2. The feedback that I got from Mario in my group really stood out to me. He pointed out a potential flaw in my mechanism about how the opportunity will fall apart if the customer simply doesn't utilize the system. That is something I haven't thought about before and really provided me with insight on how to approach my idea in the future. The other feedbacks were mostly on voice fluctuation and facial expression which i will continue to improve.
3. I changed my pitch to follow Mario's feedback by talking more about the unmet needs that my idea will satisfy and what extra services the application will provide to the users, and less about the mechanisms itself. This way, the potential hole won't be as obvious to the investors.
I really like your adjustments and the pitch was concise and clear. I think your emphasis through hand gestures and tone demonstrate your passion while keeping me engaged. Clearly better than your last pitch and great demonstration of flexibility and willingness to listen to others to iterate and improve.
ReplyDeleteHello Yung-Teng,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your post. It made me more aware of the importance and value of giving constructive feedback, not just general support. I agree that the feedback from Mario is very helpful and I am glad to see your pitch grow stronger and better from it. The mechanisms are things that you can work out with investors and others in meetings after the pitch. However, the main purpose of a pitch is to draw people to your idea, and I think that pointing out what need you're meeting and what makes your idea unique is great.
Hey Yung-Teng,
ReplyDeleteThrough out this class, I believe the hardest assignments have been the elevator pitch series. From watching your elevator pitch, it is very clear that you took the feedback to heart and applied it effectively on this new pitch. Your adjustments were great, and I couldn't see any flaws, despite watching it multiple times. Your body language was good and your hand gestures were great. It will be great to see if a pitch like this helps you kick start your own career. Keep up the good work!
